Imagine there's a space where frum people, otd people, frumish folks, orthoprax etc can meet and chat without hostility.
We can share our deep truths. Our heartaches. Our joy. Our grief. We don't need to white wash our truth for it to be recieved as is. Just as human expression.
This is what I envision this space to be. A place to share what's right, what's wrong, what's up, what's down without the personal animosity that tends to lace these conversations.
Perhaps we can get curious. Perhaps we can listen even when it's painful. Perhaps we can ask questions. Perhaps we can honor each other's humanity. Perhaps we can actually completely disagree without hurting each other or insulting each other. Perhaps we can listen to deep pain without becoming defensive just for the sake of listening and being together.
Because hey, aren't we all just trying to live a life that aligns with our values? Trying to feel like we’re doing things that matter on this earth. Trying to feel like we belong.
If you're ready to listen and / or share with an open heart, welcome.
This newsletter might shift as I shift. I'm not sure exactly where it'll go. But right now this is where it is. And from here we evolve. And who knows what we'll see and where we'll go?
I'm curious to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Submissions to this space are welcome in Yiddish and English.
Love this.
Good luck!
Hatzlacha! Question: why should one publish here over their own Substack?
